The Alberta Dental Foundation distributes funds collected through this organization to other registered charitable organizations who can provide dental services and outreach dental education to the underserved, poor, or communities with limited access. This includes those in long-term care and other institutionalized populations.

The following are just some of those organizations the ADF plans to support.
The Boyle McCauley Health Centre’s Dental Clinic & SHINE Youth Clinic
The Dental Clinic provides care to all those who cannot access it due to health concerns, social barriers, financial hardship, or no access to dental benefits, as well as providing emergency care. Fees are based on a sliding scale.
Student Health Initiative for the Needs of Edmonton (SHINE) is a student-run organization established through the University of Alberta and the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. SHINE serves Edmonton’s underserved communities. Specifically, their mandate is to help at-risk youth aged 10-25; a unique “youth serving youth” approach.
The Sheldon Chumir Health Centre
The Sheldon Chumir Health Centre is a multidisciplinary clinic in Calgary’s downtown core. The Dental Clinic on the 6th floor offers a wide range of services to our most vulnerable people – those without any kind of health insurance or benefit.
Calgary Urban Project Society (CUPS)
A non-profit organization with the aim of helping people overcome the challenges of poverty and attain brighter futures. Through integrated healthcare, education and housing, CUPS and its partners assist adults and families in Calgary living with the adversity of poverty and traumatic events to become self-sufficient.
Relatively new to the CUPS services provided is a Restorative and Hygiene Program. More information on this to come!
The Alex’s Dental Health Bus
Providing essential preventative oral health services and support, primarily to children and youth at schools in identified high-need areas. By providing low-barrier dental care on wheels, The Alex is dramatically improving the quality of life for Calgary’s most vulnerable youth.
